Weather + Shopping
Mood:Busy Health:Recovering Weather:Freezing
Chilly has came earlier than what I have expected. It wasn't so cold around this time last year. So freaking cold... Got to get a pair of fur lined boots to warm my feet. I could feel my feet freezing while walking to school and back to hostel.
Going to be full- geared soon with hat and gloves...
It is going to be my last year in university and I thought I should get a Cardiff University merchandise for memories so...
I brought a hoodies from the student union shop today :) Phew! Luckily I didn't buy hoodies last year because they got better designs and more appealing colours this year! I love my new brilliant pink hoodies! The material is good for the cold weather!
Then I got a free recycled sack bag with my purchase!
Hmm... I could use it for shopping! Very useful and environmental friendly! Not sure about the messages printed on it though... I like Cardiff but I don't love it!

This Saturday!
Mood:Fine Health:Good Weather:Good
I saw the biggest dog in my life - St Bernard! It's head is double of mine... Hee... And it is taller than me if it stands on it's hind legs.
Next, we went to the cardiff market for some cheap pastries.

Tesco Extra!
Mood:Good Health:Body aching Weather:Raining
The girls and I went to Tesco Extra for the first time this evening. Why? It is because this giant supermarket is very far from our hostel.
We spent around 40 minutes to walk there. In the middle of our journey, the rain poured on us and we were soaked to our bones. The drivers didn't spare us either, splashing water on us on the road. The three of us looked so pathetic in the cold rain with wet hair, drenched clothes and soaking socks.
We arrived at Tesco with dripping clothes and I wondered if we were going to turn away by the staff for wetting their floor. We became the centre of attention for the state we were in. And again, we caught the eyes of the shoppers for piling our trolley as if we didn't eat for years.
We were ridiculous! Yet you can't blame us for being so fanatic as this giant supermarket has so much to offer. What a laughing stock we were in... 3 girls buying as if there is no Tesco tomorrow...
This is what we got...
In the kitchen...
My body and legs are aching like hell due to walking in the air- conditioning supermarket for hours in my drenched clothes. My feet are so freezing cold...

The Doggy at Central
Every time I went to central for shopping, I never failed to see this man who sold newspapers around the entrance of Marks and Spencer. I remembered him because of his dog. The red- eyed black doggy with patches of brown didn't look that attractive at all, but it amused me...
Seated on a red carpet, he would wait patiently beside his master. No barking, no roaming about, no chasing of other dogs, just sat there obediently. When it drizzled, the master would shift the red carpet right beside the entrance so that the dog was sheltered. And he sat there like a guard dog at Marks and Spencer. His eyes would never turned away from the sight of his master, no matter how the crowds from the entrance distracted it.
It really amazed me and I wondered if all the dogs here were so obedient. My dog would run like crazy with uncontrolled excitement if I took him out for a walk. As the weather became colder, the dog had a new look, a red thermal clothes wrapped around its' body for warmth.
Today, as I walked along the streets in Central, I realised something was missing. The newspapers vendor and his dog were no longer there...

The Nourishment that Keeps Me Going...
Mood:Lovely Health:Thumbs up Weather:Warm
I was graving for tea recently. I couldn't take it anymore and went to Sainsbury to buy it after lessons.
Earl Grey is one of my favourites. I like my tea with a little bit of milk and brown sugar. I felt so satisfied after a cup of English made Earl Grey with bergamot! It wakens me up, enabled me to focus longer. It was so comfort to have a hot cup of berverages on a cold weather.
All I can say was... LOVELY!!

First Saturday
Mood:Good Health:Very good Weather:Warm
I met up with Shaun and Tracey to go to the City Centre this afternoon which is about 10 minutes walk from our hostel. I desperately need a pot and a bowl. I have been using my cup for all functions, meals and drinks. Thanks god I brought my cup along, if not I can't imagine what to eat with!
Most importantly, I need to get more food from the supermarket! The city area was quite crowded. It is always an eye- opening for me, watching the locals and the buildings. This is the Cardiff Castle opposites the busy city.
We met a very nice man at the Sainsburys supermarket. His name was Neil. He is a teacher, teaching English and knows seven languages. He was very kind to teach us some money matters, security tips and brought us around the city centre like the cardiff market where we could get cheap food. He also showed us the short cuts to some places. He was extremely helpful to carry one of my groceries bag. I have never seen a man who is so kind to make all the hassles. It is so unbelievable!

My Second Day
Mood:Curious Health:Very good Weather:Cooling
I went exploring the campus alone. I was hoping to get to the Tesco for some stuffs and food. However this place is very big with schools and residences scattered around and I couldn't find my way to the Tesco by looking at the map.
So I got to Lidl supermarket, it was a big one but not much stuffs actually. I was a little disappointed. I got myself toilet papers . See isn't it sweet with pink flowers printed on it? Come on, I didn't buy this because of the printing but it is the cheapest of all with 10 rolls and 4 ply. But still it is expensive compared to what we have at home. This roll costs S$1. So I spent S$10 on toilet papers. Ridiculous? Yah I agreed because it is more expensive than food in UK!
Then I got myself a travel umbrella. It is essential as this place rains a lot. It is also very expensive about S$12 but the quality is good and really light weighted. The rest is not so costly like food and housechores stuffs. So next time you come here, you know what to do :)

The 1st Pound
