The Doggy at Central

Every time I went to central for shopping, I never failed to see this man who sold newspapers around the entrance of Marks and Spencer. I remembered him because of his dog. The red- eyed black doggy with patches of brown didn't look that attractive at all, but it amused me...

Seated on a red carpet, he would wait patiently beside his master. No barking, no roaming about, no chasing of other dogs, just sat there obediently. When it drizzled, the master would shift the red carpet right beside the entrance so that the dog was sheltered. And he sat there like a guard dog at Marks and Spencer. His eyes would never turned away from the sight of his master, no matter how the crowds from the entrance distracted it.

It really amazed me and I wondered if all the dogs here were so obedient. My dog would run like crazy with uncontrolled excitement if I took him out for a walk. As the weather became colder, the dog had a new look, a red thermal clothes wrapped around its' body for warmth.

Today, as I walked along the streets in Central, I realised something was missing. The newspapers vendor and his dog were no longer there...
